You will arrive at your first destination of the day: the Oviedo Lagoon. The largest lake in the country with lime-colored waters 3 times saltier than the sea. Its keys are home to different species of birds and animals such as iguanas, herons and flamingos. Your curiosity will lead you to experience the experience of sulfur clays which is famous for its healing power on the skin. Then you will have lunch in a typical Dominican food place well known in the area. Afterwards, you will continue on your way to Cabo Rojo, Pedernales. Along the way you can observe the bauxite mines, the very characteristic desert areas and the wind farms that supply energy to the province. These dunes are unique in the entire Caribbean. Then you will visit Salinas, which are the salt mines of "Puerto Hermoso" in the bay of Caldera, located behind the dunes. You will be able to observe its great mountains of salt and pink waters. It is also interesting to see how the miners collect and transport the huge grains of salt. Then you will start your way back to Bayahibe. You can make a stop in the town of Juan Dolio for lunch at one of the many and diverse restaurants that are located on the shore of the beach.
